Andy Duguid’s career took off in September 2006 when the mighty Tiësto picked up his production “Hypocrisy”. The support of the grand elite of DJ’s followed soon after that when Hypocrisy gained heavy support during sets of Paul van Dyk and Armin van Burren, after being added to Tiësto’s playlist for many consecutive weeks. Being signed to Black Hole after the bidding war that followed, Hypocrisy landed on the 5th spot of the Dutch Dance Charts and simultaneously landed the career of Andy Duguid, instantly establishing a name for him in the almost impregnable forest of producers in the scene as we know it today.
The official follow up “Don’t Belong” virtually followed the same path, hailed by the industry as one of the biggest tracks of 2007. Don’t Belong initially got signed to one of the biggest compilation series globally, Tiësto’s In Search of Sunrise and it didn’t take long before Black Hole picked up the single for official release. As a result of his high quality production work, Andy Duguid soon became a frequently asked remixer for numerous prolific artists. He has worked with the likes of Tiësto, Johan Gielen, Phynn, Filo & Peri, Richard Durand and Mr. Sam to name a few, which were released on the biggest labels globally such as Maelstrom, Sola Records, Songbird and his current home base, Black Hole Recordings.
In 2008 Andy's dream of releasing an album came true with the release of “Believe”. Not a bad review was to be found about “Believe” and again the high quality of every track was noticeable. With collabs from Julie Thompson, Leah and Solarstone to name a few, “Believe” was regarded as one the best EDM albums in 2009 gaining 5 stars from the highly regarded DJ Mag.
Andy was now a “wanted” producer for some of the biggest names in the scene, so it was no surprise that soon after the release of “Believe”, Andy was working on another album. This time, for Julie Thompson, producing her entire debut album, “Feeling for Corners” in 2009.
In 2010 Andy's name as a DJ was to take a huge step with the release of the brand new mix compilation series, “Miracle Moments”. The double CD showcases Andy's mixing talents with his artistic flare which creates a 2 hour long masterpiece spread over 2 discs. Reviews around the world held the album in high regard and Andy's fan base grew to another level.
Next to his Andy Duguid moniker, Andy produces under various successful alter egos such as Reeves, who has found a home with giant's, Anjunabeats and Emilio Fernandez who received massive support for one of the best selling tracks on Black Hole Recordings, “Reynosa”.
Andy's string of successful top quality releases has pushed him to the top of the production world and in turn, has seen him travel to all corners of the planet performing as one of the best DJ's in the world today which is also showcased each and every Tuesday night on www.di.fm with his hit radio show and podcast, 'Revolutionz'. 'Revolutionz' is fastly becoming one of the best EDM shows on the planet. With a listenership of thousands and syndications globally, The fan base for 'Revolutionz is growing into an army of epic proportions which trends world wide on twitter during many of it's broadcasts.
To add to this already seemingly unachievable work load, In may 2011, the birth of Andy's record label “After Dark Music” was born. His aim? To deliver you the best top quality EDM productions the world has to offer. With Artists such as Andy himself, Ruby & Tony, Aimoon, Not Okay and Michael Badal to name a few, the future is already shining bright for After Dark Music .
In 2012 Andy shows no signs of letting up with huge single releases like “I wan't to believe” which Armin played religiously throughout the summer after naming it a future favourite on ASOT. His single “Music Box” voted by fans on the trance podium website as the track of July and the writing of his brand new artist album "On The Edge" which is set for release August 2013.
2013 kicked off for Andy with a huge remix of Bobina and Betsie Larkin's single "No substitute for you" which Armin supports once again. Followed by what has been named already as the track of 2013 by many review's "Skin & Bones". More support from Armin and track of the week from Above & Beyond was in store for Andy's collaboration with Audrey Gallagher "In This Moment". Following on came one of the most emotional trance singles of the year, '7even'. Backed by a truely inspiring video, the single found it's way into many a DJ's box. Another track of the week on Above & Beyond's 'Group Therapy' followed. To end the year, one of the most anticipated albums of the year was released, Andy's 'On The Edge'. Like his previous album 'Believe', the reviews came in and marked him top of the class. Album of the month title's followed in 'Mix Mag', 'Euphoric Mag' and many more. Again, Andy cements himself in with the world's elite.
