|Streams no longer working in Chrome/Opera|
|Written by Busby|
A recent update to Chrome means that millions of listeners are now blocked from thousands of on-line radio stations.
Stations using SHOUTcast v1 are no longer able to listen to their favourite station due to a 'security' update in version 55 of the software.
Attempts by listeners and users to get Google to issue a fix for the problem have resulted in a heated discussion in the Google Support Forums, and lots of angry listeners contacting the stations.
How is this effecting you? 1Mix Radio uses SHOUTcast V1 for almost all it's streams and the only ones which currently work with the Chrome browser are the embedded players in the 1Mix site.
What can I do? Most of the other browsers still work fine; Internet Explorer/Edge, Firefox are all working with all our streams.
Listeners can help by logging a bug with Google in the hope they change their mind and revers the change. You can contact Googe via the Chrom Bug report here
We hope the problem will be resolved soon!
